Title: RSA SecurID WebID Debug Mode Information Disclosure Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
RSA SecurID is a commercial product which provides local and remote authentication to restrict unauthorized access to resources on a host. WebID provides web-based authentication.
SecurID WebID is prone to an input validation error which may disclose information about the host to remote attackers. SecurID WebID relies upon directory names for cookie-based authentication. Inserting a null(%00) character into the directory name of a web request will send SecurID WebID into debug mode, effectively confusing the cookie authentication mechanism.
The following is an example of a web request that will put SecurID WebID into debug mode:
https://server/%00WebID/sdiis.dll
The null character must be placed before the first directory in a specially crafted web request. As a result, this may cause other programs to fail and the remote attacker will be able to glean information from the errors that occur.
Affected Products:
- RSA Security SecurID 5.0.0
