Title: 1by1 '.m3u' File Remote Stack Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

The '1by1' program is a multimedia player for Microsoft Windows.

The application is prone to a remote stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate checks on user-supplied input. Specifically, this issue occurs when opening a '.m3u' playlist file that contains excessive data.

Successfully exploiting this issue may allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application. Failed attacks will cause denial-of-service conditions.

This issue affects 1by1 1.67; other versions may also be affected.

Affected Products:

  • Martin Pesch 1by1 1.67
