Title: Claris Emailer Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Claris Emailer is an email program developed by Claris.
A vulnerability exists in Claris emailer which could cause the application to stop responding.
Due to Claris' inability to handle unusually long filenames, if a user receives an email attachment with a long filename the application may stop responding.
A restart of the application may be required in order to regain normal functionality.
This issue may be the result of an unchecked buffer. If this is the case, there is a possibility that arbitrary code may be executed on the vulnerable target. However, this has not yet been confirmed.
Affected Products:
- Claris Emailer 2.0.0
