Description:
Trend Micro OfficeScan Corporate Edition is an enterprise-level centrally managed antivirus solution. Virus Buster is the Japanese version of OfficeScan. Both versions are known to be vulnerable to this issue.
A vulnerability exists in OfficeScan which will allow users to gain access to a virtual directory on the host without authentication. This particular directory called 'hotdownload', is part of the web-based management console functions. It contains a highly significant configuration file (ofcscan.ini) used by OfficeScan Corporate Edition.
Submitting a specially crafted request with the relative path to this directory, is achievable without being authenticated.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to the disclosure of sensitive data which could assist in further attacks against the target host.
