Title: IBM WebSphere Application Server for z/OS Multiple Vulnerabilities
Severity: HIGH
Description:
IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) is an application server used for service-oriented architecture.
WAS for z/OS is prone to an unspecified cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. This issue affects the administrative console. An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may let the attacker steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.
The application is also prone to a file-permission security issue. Specifically, this issue was introduced via the interim security fixes that replaced certain files with new files having '777' permissions instead of '755'. Attackers can exploit this issue to gain write access to certain files, which could affect system integrity and lead to other attacks.
These issues affect WAS 7.0 for z/OS.
Affected Products:
- IBM Websphere Application Server 7.0
