Title: Ruby 'OCSP_basic_verify()' X.509 Certificate Verification Vulnerability

Ruby is an object-oriented scripting language.
Ruby is prone to a vulnerability related to the handling of the Online Certificate Status Protocol (OSCP), used to obtain the revocation status of x.509 certificates. This error occurs in the 'ext/openssl/ossl_ocsp.c' source file. Specifically, the software fails to check for the full range of possible return values when calling the 'OSCP_basic_verify()' function.
Exploiting this issue may allow an attacker to have a revoked x.509 certificate accepted as valid. This may allow the attacker to conduct phishing attacks or to impersonate legitimate sites. Other attacks are also possible.
Ruby 1.8.7 and 1.9.1 are vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
