Title: Cobalt RaQ .bash_history Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
The Cobalt RaQ server stores it's user homedirectories in the web tree, accessable by the world via http by default. The nonstandard contents of the homedirectory are hidden by an installed index.html. Unfortunately, .bash_history is created and world readable in the user homedirectories and viewable on the web. There is a possible root compromise if the administrator were to inadvertantly type his root password at the shell. It would be recorded and .bash_history, along with everything else root typed and viewable from anywhere on the internet. Cobalt RaQ servers are also very easy to find because of default web pages created upon install that reads "Welcome to Cobalt RaQ.", easily locatable on search engines.
Affected Products:
- Cobalt RaQ 1.1.0
