Description:
The 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless Cable/DSL Gateway is a Wi-Fi networking router.
The device is prone to an access-validation vulnerability because of a lack of authentication when users access the 'SaveCfgFile' CGI application. When called, the vulnerable application will write a 'config.bin' file containing sensitive information. Remote attackers may then request this file and obtain configuration information, including authentication credentials.
Information obtained may aid in further attacks.
The 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless Cable/DSL Gateway firmware 1.2.0 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
