Mahara is a Perl-based eportfolio application.
The application is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to sanitize user-supplied input. This issue occurs in forum posts.
Very few details are currently available regarding this issue. We will update this BID when more information emerges.
An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and to launch other attacks.
Versions prior to Mahara 1.0.9 are vulnerable.
