Title: Futomi's CGI Cafe Search CGI Password Reset Security Bypass Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

Futomi's CGI Cafe Search CGI is a CGI-based application.

The application is prone to a security-bypass vulnerability related to the password-reset feature. This issue occurs because the application fails to restrict access to the 'PasswdChange()' function of the 'admin.cgi' script when the parameter 'a' is set to 'pass_new'. An attacker may exploit this issue to modify the 'ADMIN_ID' and 'PASS' values of an administrative account.

The attacker can exploit this issue to gain administrative access to the application, which may allow the attacker to compromise the application; other attacks are also possible.

Versions up to and including Futomi's CGI Cafe Search CGI 1.1.2 are vulnerable.

Affected Products:

  • Futomi's CGI Cafe Search CGI 1.1.2
