Title: Fujitsu Systemcast Wizard Lite PXE Request Remote Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

Severity: CRITICAL

Description:

Fujitsu Systemcast Wizard Lite is a support application for Fujitsu PRIMEQUEST servers.

Systemcast Wizard Lite is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied input. Specifically, Pre-Boot Execution Environment (PXE) requests received by the 'PXEService.exe' service are copied to a statically sized buffer without sufficient validation. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a maliciously crafted UDP packet containing a PXE request of over 1024 bytes.

Attackers can leverage this issue to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM-level privileges. Successful exploits will compromise the application and the underlying computer. Failed attacks will cause denial-of-service conditions.

Systemcast Wizard Lite 2.0A and prior are vulnerable.

Affected Products:

  • Fujitsu Systemcast Wizard Lite 1.7
  • Fujitsu Systemcast Wizard Lite 1.8
  • Fujitsu Systemcast Wizard Lite 1.8a
  • Fujitsu Systemcast Wizard Lite 1.9
  • Fujitsu Systemcast Wizard Lite 2.0
  • Fujitsu Systemcast Wizard Lite 2.0a
