Title: NetSurf Multiple Memory Corruption Vulnerabilities
Severity: HIGH
Description:
NetSurf is a web browser for RISC and UNIX-like operating systems.
NetSurf is prone to multiple memory-corruption vulnerabilities:
1. An integer-overflow vulnerability occurs in the 'render/box_construct.c' file. Specifically, the issue affects the 'hspace' attribute of the '<img>' tag.
2. An integer-overflow vulnerability occurs in the 'render/layout.c' file. Specifically, the issue affects the 'width' attribute of the '<hr>' tag.
3. A memory-corruption vulnerability occurs in the 'render/box_construct.c' file. Specifically, the issue affects the 'alt' attribute of the '<img>' tag.
An attacker can exploit these issues by enticing an unsuspecting user to view a malicious HTML page.
Successful exploits allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will likely crash the application.
NetSurf 1.2 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
Affected Products:
- NetSurf NetSurf 1.2
