Title: Audio File Library (libaudiofile) 'msadpcm.c' WAV File Processing Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

Audio File Library ('libaudiofile') is an API for accessing various audio file formats.

The library is prone to a heap-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to properly bounds-check user-supplied data. This issue occurs in the 'msadpcm.c' source file. Attackers may exploit this issue by enticing an unsuspecting user to process a malicious WAV file with an application that uses the vulnerable library.

Successful exploits will allow attackers to execute arbitrary machine code in the context of applications using the vulnerable library. Failed exploit attempts will likely cause denial-of-service conditions.

This issue affects libaudiofile 0.2.6; other versions may also be vulnerable.
