Title: OpenEdit Digital Asset Management (DAM) 'name' Parameter HTML Injection Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

OpenEdit Digital Asset Management (DAM) is a web-based application implemented in PHP.

The application is prone to an HTML-injection vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in dynamically generated content. Specifically, it fails to sanitize requests to the 'name' parameter of the 'archive/savedqueries/savequeryfinish.html' webpage.

Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would run in the context of the affected browser, potentially allowing the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user. Other attacks are also possible.

Affected Products:

  • OpenEdit Digital Asset Management (DAM)
