Title: Owen Technologies OwenPoll Cookie Authentication Bypass Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

OwenPoll is web-based application implemented in PHP.

The application is prone to an authentication-bypass vulnerability because it fails to adequately verify user-supplied input used for cookie-based authentication. Attackers can exploit the issue by setting the 'username' cookie parameter to an administrative user's login name and the 'path' parameter to '/'.

Successful exploits may allow attackers to gain unauthorized access to the affected application, which may aid in further attacks.

OwenPoll 1.0 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.

Affected Products:

  • Owen Technologies OwenPoll 1.0
