Title: Merak Mail Server and Webmail Email Message HTML Injection Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Merak Mail Server and Webmail are mail server applications written for multiple platforms.
The applications are prone to an HTML-injection vulnerability because they fail to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in dynamically generated content. Specifically, the application fails to sanitize 'IMG' HTML tags before viewing emails in the Webmail interface.
Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would execute in the context of the affected site, potentially allowing the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user; other attacks are also possible.
