Title: Openfire 'audit-policy.jsp' Multiple Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Openfire is a freely available instant-messaging server available for various platforms.
The application is vulnerable to multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied input to the 'logDir', 'logTimeout', 'maxDays', 'maxFileSize', and 'maxTotalSize' parameters of the 'audit-policy.jsp' script.
An attacker may leverage these issues to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may help the attacker steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.
Openfire 3.6.2 is vulnerable; prior versions may also be affected.
