Title: cpCommerce Security Bypass and SQL Injection Vulnerabilities

Severity: HIGH

Description:

cpCommerce is a PHP-based ecommerce application.

The application is prone to these security vulnerabilities:

1. A security-bypass vulnerability occurs in the '_functions.php' script that may allow unauthorized attackers to overwrite arbitrary input data.

2. An SQL-injection vulnerability occurs because the application fails to properly sanitize input to the 'email' parameter in the 'functions/account_info.func.php' script before using it in an SQL query.

Exploiting the security-bypass issue may allow an attacker to bypass certain security restrictions and perform unauthorized actions. The attacker can exploit the SQL-injection issue by manipulating the SQL query logic to carry out unauthorized actions on the underlying database. These issues may further be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code and compromise the application.

cpCommerce 1.2.6 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.

Affected Products:

  • cpCommerce cpCommerce 1.2.6
