Description:
EMC ControlCenter SAN Manager provides a single interface for managing a storage area network.
The application is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied input. The problem occurs in the SAN Manager Master Agent service ('msragent.exe') when processing 'SST_CTGTRANS' requests.
Attackers can leverage this issue to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM level access. Successful exploits will result in a complete compromise of affected computers. Failed attacks will likely cause denial-of-service conditions.
