Title: Ruby on Rails 'redirect_to()' HTTP Header Injection Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Ruby on Rails is a web application framework for multiple platforms.
Ruby on Rails is prone to a vulnerability that allows attackers to inject arbitrary HTTP headers because it fails to sanitize input. This issue is reported in the 'redirect_to()' function in the 'ActionController::Base' class.
An attacker may exploit this issue to inject arbitrary HTTP headers into a server response.
By inserting arbitrary headers into an HTTP response, attackers may be able to launch cross-site request-forgery, cross-site scripting, HTTP-request-smuggling, and other attacks.
This issue affects versions prior to Ruby on Rails 2.0.5.
Affected Products:
- RedHat Fedora 10
- RedHat Fedora 9
- Ruby on Rails Ruby on Rails 2.0.4
- S.u.S.E. SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
- S.u.S.E. openSUSE 10.2
- S.u.S.E. openSUSE 10.3
- S.u.S.E. openSUSE 11.0
