Title: BadBlue Source Code Disclosure Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
BadBlue is a small web-based file sharing utility for Microsoft Windows systems.
BadBlue does not filter some some malicious strings from web requests. If a null character(%00) is placed at the end of a web request for a known file, then BadBlue will display the file instead of executing it. It should be noted that this does not allow the attacker to browse the filesystem of the host, but it does affect files within the webroot directory tree. If the file is a script then the source code will be disclosed to the attacker.
For example:
http://target-host/testfile.php%00
Sensitive information stored in script source code such as database usernames and passwords may facilitate further attacks against the target if disclosed to an attacker.
