Description:
Simple Machines Forum is a web-based application implemented in PHP.
The application is prone to a local file-include vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input to the 'theme_dir' parameter of the 'Themes.php' script. An attacker can exploit this issue by manipulating their profile settings.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability allows the attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information and execute arbitrary local scripts in the context of the webserver process. This may allow the attacker to compromise the application and the underlying computer; other attacks are also possible.
Versions up to and including Simple Machines Forum 1.1.6 are vulnerable.
