4D is a client/server relational database management system with integrated web development and serving.
Version 6.5.7 of the 4D WebServer software running on the Microsoft Windows NT platform is vulnerable to directory traversal attacks, allowing a remote user to successfully request files from outside the public directory scope. By submitting a properly-structured URL of this form:
http://host.com/4DBin/_/../winnt/target
This could allow an attacker to obtain sensitive or confidential information which could be used to mount further attacks upon the host.
