Title: Nudester Unauthorized Arbitrary File Upload and Download Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

Nudester is a file sharing program which uses the FTP protocol to transfer files.

A vulnerability exists in Nudester which could enable a remote user to upload an arbitrary file anywhere on the target host. In addition, a user can reveal the entire directory structure and download any file residing on the host.

A user downloading files from a Nudester host can use a third party utility to sniff the connection (filtering port 21 while a file from the appropriately shared folder is being downloaded) and gain access to a password. This password can then be used to login to the Nudester host and perform various actions, including uploading arbitrary files anywhere on the target's filesystem. As well, the user could traverse the target's directory structure and download any file.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to a complete compromise of the host's integrity.
