Title: ABB PCU400 'x87' Remote Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

Severity: CRITICAL

Description:

ABB PCU400 is a device to help implement data-acquistion networks for Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

ABB PCU400 is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability. This issue is reported to reside in the 'x87' executable that is used to handle communication for the following protocols:

- IEC60870-5-101
- IEC60870-5-104

An attacker may exploit this issue by sending a maliciously crafted packet to the application on TCP port 8087.

Attackers may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the vulnerable application.

The PCU400 'x87' executable version 3.5.5 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
