Title: Drupal Talk Module Multiple Remote Vulnerabilities
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
The Talk module is a PHP-based component for Drupal that provides a secondary page for comments associated with a given node.
Talk is prone to multiple remote vulnerabilities:
1. An HTML-injection vulnerability occurs because the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input provided as a node title before using it in dynamically generated content.
Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would run in the context of the affected site, potentially allowing the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user. Other attacks are also possible.
2. An access-validation vulnerability occurs because user credentials aren't checked before comment pages are displayed, allowing attackers to view arbitrary nodes and comments.
These issues affect versions prior to Talk 5.x-1.3 and Talk 6.x-1.5.
Affected Products:
- Drupal Talk 5.x-1.2
- Drupal Talk 6.x-1.4
