Title: PHP Nuke Remote SQL Query Manipulation Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

PHP-Nuke is a website creation/maintenance tool written in PHP3.

Many of the scripts in PHP-Nuke fail to properly validate user-supplied input. This can permit an attacker to corrupt SQL queries that include unfiltered user-supplied variables.

This vulnerability is known to exist in the 'reviews.php' script. The 'id' parameter is not checked to ensure that it is valid before being included in an SQL query string. It is possible to submit a value to 'reviews.php' for the 'id' variable that alters the logic of the query that includes it. For example, an attacker can add an additional 'OR' clause that may cause it to return an unexpected result.

Conditions such as this may permit further attacks against the webserver and database supporting the PHP-Nuke website.

NOTE: This problem is associated with PHP 3, as PHP 4 has features in places to filter malicious content from requests.
