Title: Steve Grimm Un-CGI Directory Traversal Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
Un-CGI is a free CGI Wrapper application. Its function is to parse URL encoded input and translate it for use by CGI applications. It may be used as a library or as a stand-alone executable.
A problem exists with the Un-CGI executable.
Un-CGI will not filter '../' sequences out of the user-supplied input it parses. Remote attackers may submit requests that allow them to break out of webroot and access arbitrary web-readable files.
Sensitive information contained in such files will be disclosed to the attacker, who may also have a potential to remotely execute scripts located on the host.
