Title: Linux Kernel 'snd_seq_oss_synth_make_info()' Information Disclosure Vulnerability

Severity: LOW

Description:

The Linux kernel is prone to an information-disclosure vulnerability.

Specifically, this issue arises because the 'snd_seq_oss_synth_make_info()' function reports information back to userspace without sufficiently checking the validity of the device number. The 'snd_seq_oss_synth_make_info()' function resides in the 'seq_oss_synth.c' source file.

Successful exploits will allow attackers to obtain sensitive information that may aid in further attacks.

Versions prior to Linux kernel 2.6.27-rc2 are vulnerable.
