Title: ScrewTurn Software ScrewTurn Wiki 'System Log' Page HTML Injection Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
ScrewTurn Wiki is a Wiki engine implemented in C# for the ASP.NET 2.0 platform.
The application is prone to an HTML-injection vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in dynamically generated content. Specifically, the application fails to sufficiently sanitize error logs when displaying them on the 'System Log' ('admin.aspx') page.
Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would run in the context of the affected browser, potentially allowing the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user. Other attacks are also possible.
NOTE: Attackers will likely exploit this issue to steal administrative user credentials because the 'admin.aspx' page is accessible only by administrators.
The issue affects ScrewTurn Wiki 2.0.29 and 2.0.30; other versions may also be affected.
Affected Products:
- ScrewTurn Software ScrewTurn Wiki 2.0.29
- ScrewTurn Software ScrewTurn Wiki 2.0.30
