Title: RealPlayer 'rjbdll.dll' ActiveX Control 'Import' Method Stack Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
RealPlayer is an application that allows users to play various media formats.
RealPlayer is prone to a stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied input before copying it to an insufficiently sized memory buffer. This issue affects the 'import()' method of the 'rjbdll.dll' ActiveX control when handling the deletion of media library files. The ActiveX control can be identified by CLSID: FDC7A535-4070-4B92-A0EA-D9994BCC0DC5.
Attackers can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application using the affected control (typically Internet Explorer). Successful attacks can compromise the application and possibly the underlying computer. Failed attacks will likely cause denial-of-service conditions.
