Title: Netscape Communicator "view-source:" Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

A vulnerability in Netscape Communicator 4.x allows malicious web sites or email messages to browse local directories, read the user's cache, read parsed HTML files and read Netscape's configuration (including the user's email address, password and mail servers).

The vulnerability is in the way Netscape handles URLs of the type "view-source:wysiwyg://1/javascript". This documents are parsed in a view source window. The problem is that Netscape allows access to the documents included in the parent document via a "ILAYER SRC="view-source:wysiwyg://1/" tag using find(). This allows read access to the entire parsed document.
