Title: Claroline Prior to 1.8.10 Multiple Input Validation Vulnerabilities
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Claroline is a PHP-based online educational platform.
Claroline is prone to multiple input-validation vulnerabilities:
1. Multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities affect the following scripts:
'announcements/announcements.php'
'calendar/agenda.php'
'course/index.php'
'course_description/index.php'
'document/document.php'
'exercise/exercise.php'
'group/group_space.php'
'phpbb/newtopic.php'
'phpbb/reply.php'
'phpbb/viewtopic.php'
'wiki/wiki.php'
'work/work.php'
The application is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability that affects the 'cwd' parameter of the 'claroline/document/rqmkhtml.php' script.
2. A URI-redirection vulnerability affects the 'url' parameter of the 'redirector.php' script.
An attacker may leverage these issues to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site and redirect users to an attacker-controlled site; this may aid in phishing-style attacks.
Versions prior to Claroline 1.8.10 are vulnerable.
Affected Products:
- Claroline Claroline 1.8.9
