Title: Maian Weblog 'weblog_cookie' Authentication Bypass Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Maian Weblog is a web-based application implemented in PHP.
The application is prone to an authentication-bypass vulnerability because it fails to adequately verify user-supplied input used for cookie-based authentication.
Specifically, the application checks only if the authorization cookie exists; it fails to verify the cookie's content. Attackers can gain administrative privileges by crafting the 'weblog_cookie' cookie parameter and accessing the 'admin/index.php' script.
Attackers can exploit this issue to gain administrative access to the application.
This issue affects Maian Weblog 4.0 and prior versions.
