Title: Cisco SN 5420 Storage Router Denial of Service Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

The Cisco SN 5420 Storage Router is a device that provides universal data storage functionality over an IP network.

The router is susceptible to a denial-of-service attack that could enable remote attackers to cause it to reboot. The problem occurs when multiple connections are rapidly established to TCP port 8023.

By repeatedly causing the router to reboot, it is possible to prevent legitimate users from accessing storage, thus causing a denial of service.

Affected Products:

  • Cisco SN 5420 Storage Router 1.1.0(3)
