Title: OllyDBG and ImpREC Export Name Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
OllyDBG is a debugging application; ImpREC is a PE (Portable Executable) file unpacker.
OllyDBG and ImpREC are prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability because they fail to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied input. The issue occurs when exporting 'name' buffers.
Attackers may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application. Failed attacks will cause denial-of-service conditions.
OllyDBG v1.10 and ImpREC v1.7f are vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
Affected Products:
- MackT ImpREC 1.7 f
- OllyDbg OllyDbg 1.10
- OllyDbg OllyDbg 1.10.0
