Title: TYPO3 phpMyAdmin Extension Unspecified Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

phpMyAdmin is a third-party extension for the TYPO3 content manager; phpMyAdmin is not a part of the TYPO3 default installation.

The extension is prone to an unspecified cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input.

An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may let the attacker steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.

Very few details are available. We will update this BID as more information emerges.

The issue affects versions prior to phpMyAdmin 3.2.0.

Affected Products:

  • Typo3 phpMyAdmin 0.2.2
  • Typo3 phpMyAdmin 3.0.0
  • Typo3 phpMyAdmin 3.0.1
