Title: Cayman-DSL Router Portscan Denial of Service Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
The Cayman-DSL Model 3220-H router is vulnerable to denials of service.
It is possible to cause a Cayman-DSL router to crash.
Although further details were not made available, initial reports indicate that this router becomes unstable when a high number of TCP packets containing the various flags set are passed through the devices to a remote system. The initial discovery was made while using the nmap scanning tool, and scanning a remote system from the local network side of the router.
This may be due to an inability to handle multiple concurrent connection attempts.
An attacker can launch this attack trivially with an automated portscanning tool such as nmap, or may be able to recreate this vulnerability using a manual packet crafting tool, such as netcat.
Affected Products:
- Cayman 3220-H DSL Router 1.0.0
