Title: Trend Micro Interscan Applet Trap '0' IP Bypass Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Trend Micro Interscan Applet Trap is a program used to block malicious Java applets, JavaScript and unsecured ActiveX controls at the gateway. Offending websites are automatically added to a block list to prevent future applets and such from being viewed. Applet Trap also allows administrators to filter specific URLs from being viewed by users.
Due to a flaw in Applet Trap, it is possible for a user to bypass the URL filtering restriction and view any unauthorized web site.
This is achieved by affixing a certain number of '0' to the unauthorized host's IP address. For example:
http://00127.0.0.0 or http://127.00.0.0
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to various security breaches, including the execution of malicious unsigned Java applets or activeX controls. The execution of malicious code could lead to further compromises of the host.

- Trend Micro Interscan Applet Trap 2.0.0
