Title: Avaya Communication Manager Multiple Security Vulnerabilities

Severity: CRITICAL

Description:

Avaya Communication Manager is an IP telephony platform.

Avaya Communication Manager is prone to multiple security vulnerabilities affecting the following components:

1. The SIP Enablement Service (SES) web administration interface is prone to the following issues:
Privilege-escalation vulnerabilities affect the following features:

- 'view data and restore parameters'
- 'view data and restore credentials'

Attackers must have valid administrator privileges for the application and can exploit these issues to execute code with SYSTEM-level privileges.

An arbitrary-command-execution vulnerability affects the 'view data and restore parameters' feature. Attackers must have authenticated access to the application and can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary commands as the logged-in user.

Information-disclosure vulnerabilities allow an unauthenticated attacker to retrieve:

- configuration information
- encrypted passwords.

Unauthorized-access vulnerabilities allow an unauthenticated attacker to retrieve utilities used for:

- decrypting subscriber table passwords
- encrypting subscriber table passwords
- decrypting database passwords
- installing certificates, which can disclose sensitive filesystem information.

Unauthorized-access vulnerabilities allow an unauthenticated attacker to execute:

- an unnecessary default application
- a default application that provides server configuration information.

An unauthorized-access vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker to access full system help.

Vulnerabilities that allow an unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary scripts affect these folders:

'objects'
'states'

2. The Communication Manager (CM) web administration interface is prone to the following issues:
A privilege-escalation vulnerability affects the 'view data and restore credentials' feature. Attackers must have valid administrator privileges for the application and can exploit this issue to execute code with SYSTEM-level privileges.

An arbitrary-command-execution vulnerability affects the system log viewer. Attackers must have authenticated access to the application and can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary commands as the logged-in user.

Very few technical details are available regarding these issues. We will update this BID as more information emerges.

Attackers can exploit these issues to execute arbitrary code, elevate privileges, obtain sensitive information, or compromise vulnerable computers.
