Title: 427BB Multiple SQL Injection and Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
427BB is a bulletin-board system implemented in PHP with a MySQL backend.
The application is prone to multiple input-validation vulnerabilities:
1. An SQL-injection vulnerability affects the 'post' parameter of the 'showpost.php' script.
2. Multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities affect the following scripts and parameters:
'register.php': 'uname'
'register.php': 'email'
'register.php': 'email2'
'reminder.php': 'email'
'search.php': 'keywords'
An attacker may leverage these issues to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials, compromise the application, access or modify data, exploit latent vulnerabilities in the underlying database, and launch other attacks.
427BB 2.3.1 is vulnerable to these issues; other versions may also be affected.
Affected Products:
- 427BB fourtwosevenbb 2.3.1
