Title: Sun Java ASP Server Remote Authentication Bypass Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
Sun Java ASP Server allows organizations to deploy ASP-based web applications on various webservers and operating systems.
The server is prone to a remote authentication-bypass vulnerability because of a design error in the affected application.
An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a specially crafted request to the application via TCP Port 5102. This will allow attackers to bypass the administration HTTP server authentication mechanism.
Successfully exploiting this issue will allow attackers to gain unauthorized access to the affected application.
Versions prior to Sun Java ASP Server 4.0.3 are vulnerable.
Affected Products:
- Sun Java System Active Server Pages (ASP) Server 4.0
- Sun Java System Active Server Pages (ASP) Server 4.0.1
