Title: Quate CMS Multiple Input Validation Vulnerabilities
Severity: HIGH
Description:
Quate CMS is a PHP-based content manager.
Since it fails to adequately sanitize user-supplied input, Quate CMS is prone to multiple input-validation vulnerabilities:
1. Local file-include vulnerabilities affect the following scripts and parameters:
'admin/includes/footer.php': 'admin_template_default, row_secure[account_theme]'
'admin/includes/header.php': 'row_secure[account_theme]'
UPDATE (August 6, 2008): Multiple sources have reported these local file-include issues.
2. A remote file-include vulnerability affects the 'secure_page_path' parameter of the 'admin/includes/header.php' script.
3. Multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities affect the following scripts:
'/admin/index.php'
'/admin/login.php'
'/admin/credits.php'
'/upgrade/index.php'
4. A directory-traversal vulnerability affects the 'file' parameter of the 'admin/filemanager.php' script. Administrators of the application can access files outside of the document root directory.
An attacker can exploit these vulnerabilities to execute arbitrary local or remote script code in the context of the affected site. This may allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials, obtain potentially sensitive information, or compromise the affected application and possibly the underlying system.
Quate CMS 0.3.4 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
Affected Products:
- Quate Quate CMS 0.3.4
