Title: Sun Solaris TCP SYN Flooding Remote Denial of Service Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Sun Solaris is prone to a denial-of-service vulnerability that occurs because of its TCP implementation.

Computers undergoing a TCP SYN flood condition may not be able to accept new network connections. Connection attempts may time out before they are successfully established, leading to a denial-of-service condition for network services provided by the computer. Also, uniprocessor computers may experience excessive CPU consumption, creating denial-of-service conditions for the computer as a whole.

Technical details are currently unavailable at the moment. We will update this BID as soon as more information becomes available.

A remote attacker can exploit this issue to cause the system to hang or to degrade its performance, denying service to legitimate users.
