Title: ZoneMinder Multiple Unspecified Remote Code Execution Vulnerabilities
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
ZoneMinder is a freely available application designed to control and record video from security cameras. It contains a web-based administrative application implemented in PHP.
ZoneMinder is prone to multiple remote code-execution vulnerabilities.
UPDATE: Reportedly, the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in the PHP 'exec()' function call. Attackers can exploit this by using shell metacharacters in a crafted URL.
Successful exploits allow remote, authenticated attackers to execute arbitrary script code with the privileges of the webserver user. This may facilitate the remote compromise of the underlying operating system.
Versions prior to ZoneMinder 1.23.3 are vulnerable.
