Title: Microsoft Word Document Macro Execution Vulnerability

Description:

Microsoft Word has a security feature which prompts a user before opening a document containing macros. A vulnerability exists in the security feature which could enable macros within .doc files to run without the user's knowledge.

Word fails to properly check files for macros. A Word document containing macros can be modified (by one byte using a hex editor) in such a way that upon opening the file, the macros will execute without the user's knowledge.

This vulnerability can be exploited regardless of the level of security set.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could assist in further attacks against the victim, or possibly lead to a complete compromise of the target.
