Title: LICQ File Descriptor Remote Denial of Service Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
LICQ is a Linux Qt-based messaging application.
LICQ is prone to a denial-of-service vulnerability because it fails to handle exceptional conditions. Specifically, when all possible file descriptors are exhausted and the application tries to accept a new TCP connection, the affected application will terminate. The issue affects the following files:
'src/icqd-chat.cpp'
'src/icqd-threads.cpp'
'src/socket.cpp'
A remote attacker can exploit this issue to crash the affected application, denying service to legitimate users. The attacker may also be able to execute code, but this has not been confirmed.
