Title: Cisco Unified Communications Disaster Recovery Framework Remote Command Execution Vulnerability

Severity: CRITICAL

Description:

The Disaster Recover Framework (DRF) is a feature in several Cisco products that allows administrators to back up system configurations onto a backup device such as a local tape drive or a remote server. The DRF master server listens on TCP port 4040 by default.

Multiple Cisco Unified Communications products are prone to a remote command-execution vulnerability that occurs in the DRF. Specifically, the DRF master server fails to authenticate requests received over the network from an unauthorized user.

An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this issue to connect to the DRF master server and perform DRF-related operations.

Successfully exploiting this issue will allow attackers to execute arbitrary commands with full administrative privileges.

The following products are affected:

Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) 5.x and 6.x
Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition
Cisco Unified Presence 1.x and 6.x
Cisco Emergency Responder 2.x
