Title: Mitsubishi Electric GB-50A Multiple Remote Authentication Bypass Vulnerabilities
Severity: CRITICAL
Description:
The Mitsubishi GB-50A is a network-enabled device for controlling air conditioners. The device has a web interface for administrative and user access.
The problem occurs because the device uses a set of Java applets to control functionality. An attacker can directly access these applets, bypassing authorization. Note that the attacker will need access to the local LAN to exploit this vulnerability. This may be accomplished through legitimate means or through exploiting other latent vulnerabilities.
Successful exploits will allow unauthorized attackers to gain access to administrative functionality and completely compromise vulnerable devices; other attacks are also possible.
