Title: Pi-Soft SpoonFTP 'CWD' and 'LIST' Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
SpoonFTP is a FTP server for Windows environments by Pi-Soft.
A vulnerability exists in SpoonFTP server where a remote attacker can cause the server to stop responding. It is believed that this is a buffer overflow condition, therefore it is possible for an attacker to execute arbitrary code through this vulnerability.
The overflow condition occurs when a string of excessive length (530 or 531 bytes) is transmitted as the argument to a 'LIST' or 'CWD' command. If submitted properly it is possible to overrun the buffer and cause a denial of service, allowing the execution of arbitrary code on the target host.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to a complete compromise of the host.
